Before we start

Your questions,
answered.

Does every overseas worker require sponsorship?

No. Some people already have a UK immigration status that permits the work, and some categories do not require sponsorship. The position should be checked before an employer starts the sponsorship process.

Can UKVI visit before deciding the application?

Yes. UKVI may conduct a pre-licence compliance check to assess whether the organisation is genuine, capable of carrying out sponsor duties and has suitable systems in place.

Does a sponsor licence guarantee a worker's visa?

No. The licence enables an organisation to sponsor suitable roles, but each worker must make a separate application and meet the requirements of the relevant immigration route.
